The Science of Conducting Efficient, Fair, and Effective Meetings
Part 1: The Basics

Presenter: NECW Parliamentarian, Dennis Clark

The anticipated outcome of this presentation is to prepare members to participate in and, if need be, preside over meetings by understanding the basic principles of parliamentary law. While few will ever know all the rules found in Robert’s Rules, a thorough understanding of the principles which the rules are based on will enable members to avoid contentious meetings which last way too long and get far too little accomplished. Other topics to be covered are the order of business (agenda) of a meeting; making and processing basic motions; and techniques for avoiding conflict.

In his presentations, the NECW Parliamentarian channels his near fifty-year career as a professional parliamentarian and nearly life-long passion as an educator and raconteur to the science of conducting efficient, fair, and effective meetings. Having taught the art of effective presiding and membership skills to hundreds of training sessions around the country, he condenses all into an entertaining presentation on how to take the “Me” out of meetings, as well as promote strategies for coping with bullying tactics by the few.  He promises a good time will be had by all!

Leading With Heart: Circular Leadership – Application and Implementation

Presenter: Evita Krislock along with, Winifrid Follett, Christine Budzowski, Barbara Schafer

This workshop focuses on the application of the Circular Leadership workshop.

Whether you are a brand new ministry or have roots going as far back as anyone can remember, this workshop provides tools to move your organization toward a Circular Model of Leadership. Our previous workshop demonstrated the value and concept of using a circular model for your ministry and this workshop provides concepts transitioning into practical use. Both workshops are designed to complement each other, although if you are familiar to the practice, you will easily understand as we explore implementation possibilities.
