Share your event and news with us
Send us your meeting, activity, and other announcements and we will post them on the website and Facebook.
Meetings, awards, news, and happenings… all qualify for posting
Once your information is on the national website it is easy for us, as well as you, to share it to Facebook and other social media accounts. Many groups don’t have websites so having us post the information for you lets you have a place to send members to read about your event. Even if you do have a website, having us post it creates a historical archive of what happens around the country. Our goal is to create a lasting depository for our Women in Action.
Do remember that to make a good post we need the who, what, where, when, how much, and why included in your email. Including one or two images helps build interest.
- Who: Diocese, local group, leaders, presenters… your website link for the event
- What: What is the activity about?
- Where: The physical location or virtual location
- When: Date and time. What time zone is also important as is duration
- How Much: Is there a cost for the event? If not, say ‘free’
- Why: Why should someone attend or care about your activity or announcement?
- If you want us to link to a registration site such as eventbrite.com, make certain registration is open for the event.
Important: We share your local virtual retreats and such through our News Blast email. If you have a link to register online, we will place it in the News Blast along with the retreat information. The News Blast is sent out every Saturday and resent on the following Wednesday. To ensure your online registration functions properly make certain we have your retreat information three weeks before your event, and keep your online registration open through the Thursday before your event.
These are the files and information we look for
- Word file with your written information
- PDF of the activity such that we can ‘lift’ the text from the file
- Image file(s) * files names should be descriptive, not ‘unlabeled’ or ‘img001’
- Images of people: Remember, you need to have approval of people to share their images.
We ask that you not send copyrighted material; be it images or written word.
