Grants
All national level grants are awarded by the decision of the ECW National Board.
Contributions from provinces, dioceses, parishes/congregations, and individuals provide ongoing support to the ECW National Board so that it can continue its ministry. Even the smallest contributions add up to make a world of difference. As you pledge your support for the National Episcopal Church Women, consider how your help could be felt with a recurring monthly gift.
The ECW has a long history of supporting women and children throughout the world. Their help feeds, educates, and strengthens families through Christian stewardship. As you consider which grant to support or request funds from, please familiarize yourself with the specifics for what the grant was designed.
Universal Grant
Awarded upon need
The Universal Grant is a broad spectrum grant that enables organizations to foster Christ’s message throughout the world. Each application is reviewed to ensure its purpose is used to empower the women of The Episcopal Church and provide support services the ECW finds important.
Please note that your application should show how your involvement will address at least one of the Five Marks of Mission.

Women to Women Grant
Awarded upon need
Gifts to the Women to Women program supports women and families trapped in a cycle of poverty, disease and hopelessness. The grant program also provides funding for other organizations that support these foundations. The gifts are designed to enable women to learn skills that will enable them to start small businesses or become employable in similar fashion to micro-lending. An application process is coordinated by the Social Justice Committee of the ECW National Board. The application requires bishop’s or clergy’s verification of the need represented. Contributions by individuals, ECW, and outreach committees provide seed money for projects.
Grant applications are submitted via the completion of an application. These forms are provided for download in PDF or Word format. Please send the completed form to the Social Justice Chair. socialjustice@ecwnational.org

Communique’ Magazine
General Fund – No grant awarded
Several times per year the National Episcopal Church Women publish a magazine of articles highlighting their work and the work of other Episcopal ministries around the world. Each issue focuses on a specific theme and brings the reader into the inner workings of faith leadership and services that address: prisons, youth ministry, family care, fundraising, church involvement and a myriad of other topics covering our complex lives.
All articles are published on the website. If you are interested in reading about our domestic and foreign ministries, join the newsletter and receive notification about the Communique’ and other news broadcasts.
Triennial Meeting Endowment Fund
General Fund – No grant awarded
Originally formed as the Dollar Endowment Fund in 1991, this fund’s objective is to always have sufficient resources for the ECW National Board to host the Triennial Meeting (TM). If every Episcopal Church Woman had given $1 in 1991, the fund’s objective would have been met.
Contributions are appreciated to help in hosting TM.
Aid to Delegates
Awarded each Triennial
Contributions help to defray the cost and enable delegates to attend the Triennial Meeting (TM). Requests for financial assistance are made to the treasurer in accordance with the guidelines for each Triennial.
*This information is scheduled to post on the website at the time Triennial registration begins.
Unified Gift
Awarded each Triennial
During each triennium period, the ECW National Board selects a recipient for the Unified Gift to be presented at the Triennial meeting.
The ministry or cause supported by the organization chosen should be broad enough in scope for ECWs at all levels (province, diocesan, and congregational) to support. The recipient is located within the general area where the Triennial meeting is being held.
Community Connection Gift
Awarded each Triennial
During each triennium period, the ECW National Board selects a recipient for the Community Connection Gift. The ministry or cause supported by the organization chosen would be local in scope to the Triennial meeting area, and open for ECWs at all levels (province, diocesan, and congregational) to support.
Province Grants Initiative
The Board of National Episcopal Church Women has established a grant program to recognize projects that improve lives and strengthen communities in each of the nine provinces of The Episcopal Church. These grants are given once, in each province, during a triennium. Priority goes to organizations in which Episcopal Church Women are actively involved. Each province grant received $1,000.
