I have had extensive professional experience in writing, and I have served as secretary on numerous boards, including the ECW of Province IV and the ECW of the Diocese of East Tennessee (I have also served as president on the diocesan and province levels). Professionally, I hold the Ph.D. in history from the University of Tennessee, and I have written a book and various articles and book reviews. Currently I serve as a Distinguished Lecturer in the History Department at the University of Tennessee. My current research focuses on American and British women in the peace movement during World War I.

She has recently moved from Connecticut, Province 1, to Florida, Province 4 and in the process of transferring membership from St. John’s Parish, Bridgeport, CT. to Shepherd of the Hills Episcopal Church, Lecanto, FL.
At St. John’s
Elected to and served in various positions of leadership including, Senior and Junior Warden, ECW President, Rector’s Search Committee, Sunday School Teacher, Strawberry Festival Chairperson, Finance Committee, Liturgical Assistant, Board of Dir. St. John’s Family Center and Volunteered as Co-Ordinator of the Community Suppers (soup kitchen.)

Ms. Jacobs is a retired professor and has dedicated her life to volunteering and improving the life of those within her community and church. Her commitment to others has allowed her to be the diocesan convention chair for diocese of East Carolina, president of province IV Episcopal Church Women, and spend nearly twenty years assisting Good Shepherd Soup Kitchen.
