Commissioning and Installation of Episcopal Church Women Officers
The people are seated, the candidates face the presider.
Presider: Siblings in Christ Jesus, we are all baptized by the one Spirit, in one Body, and given the gifts for a variety of ministries for the common good. Our purpose is to commission these persons in the Name of God and of the organization to a special ministry to which they are called.
You have been called to ministry in the Episcopal Church Women. Will you, as long as you are engaged in this work, perform it with diligence?
Candidates: I will.
Presider: Will you faithfully and reverently execute the duties of your ministry to the honor of God, and the benefit of those whom you serve?
Candidates: I will.
Sponsor: I present to you these persons to be installed as officers of the Episcopal Church Women.
Presider: God will not overlook your work and the love which you show for his sake.
Candidates: Teach me to do what pleases you, for you are my God. Let your good Spirit lead me on level ground.
Presider: You are my witnesses, says the Lord, and my servants whom I have chosen.
Candidates: Give thanks to the Lord and call upon God’s name. Make known God’s deeds among the peoples.
The presider will commission each officer individually.
