Creation Care and Environmental Justice
Sue Mueller serves as the Member-at-Large for Creation Care and Environmental Justice on the National Episcopal Church Women (ECW) Board. A passionate advocate for faith-rooted climate action, Sue brings a deep commitment to environmental justice, spiritual formation, and community empowerment.
Professionally, Sue serves as the Climate Hope Campaign Organizer for the national ministries of the United Church of Christ (UCC), where she leads climate justice campaigns that mobilize faith communities across generations. Through the development of Climate Hope Affiliates, she is helping to build a national network of congregations that actively engage with members of Congress to advocate for bold, equitable climate policy.
Rooted in the Episcopal tradition that shaped her faith from an early age, Sue approaches creation care as a sacred call to love God and neighbor – especially those most impacted by climate injustice. She leads from a place of collaboration and hope, helping women across the Church explore how their faith connects to ecological stewardship, resilience, and systemic advocacy.
In her ECW role, Sue is building national partnerships, creating accessible resources for ECW chapters, and equipping Episcopal women to speak and act prophetically on behalf of God’s good earth. She also represents ECW in networks such as Blessed Tomorrow and One Home One Future, bringing the voice of Episcopal women into interfaith conversations on climate change.
Sue is currently earning her Master of Arts in Theology at Xavier University, with a concentration in ethics, spirituality, and pastoral care (degree expected May 2026). Her work is animated by a vision of the Church as a healing presence in a wounded world – bearing witness to God’s love through justice, joy, and community.
