Unified Gift – NetsforLife®

The NetsforLife® the Inspiration Fund is grassroots, church wide effort to educate, engage, and unite Episcopalians to support the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) through the fight against malaria. Our goal is to build awareness about this disease, how it can be prevented, and raise $5 million by December 2012. We invite you to visit the campaign website at www.inspirationfund.org to access a range of free educational and faith formal resources for your local efforts including curriculum, photo slide shows, fact sheets, display boards, and more.

NetsforLife® works to instill a “net culture”—a community-wide understanding of the protective value of nets and the right way to use and maintain them.  When a net culture is in place, people know how to prevent malaria, when to seek medical treatment and how to access effective treatment.

Since 2008, NetsforLife® has delivered over 5.6 million nets across 17 countries in sub-Saharan Africa resulting in less sickness, fewer deaths and stronger communities. NetsforLife® combats malaria by training community agents to deliver life-saving nets, educating community members about proper net use and maintenance, and providing on-going monitoring and evaluation of net use.

NetsforLife® has been chosen as the 2012 Triennial Meeting Unified Gift. Our goal is to purchase 1000 nets at $12 each. Let’s do even better than that! Dioceses may send your donation, made payable to Domestic and Foreign Missionary Society (DFMS), with the memo notation “Unified Gift” to:
