Personal Background
Born in Sydney, Australia, I’m a cradle Anglican who moved to Hollywood, California at the age of 10. I was confirmed into the Episcopal Church at the age of 13 and I’ve been involved, uplifted, and supported by my church family ever since. At the age of 25 I served as ECW President at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in Provo, Utah. Coming back to Southern California in my late 20s, I took a break from ECW ministries while my daughters were in school, then returned to an active life of service in the Episcopal Church where I’ve been Communicating ever since.
I live in Los Angeles near the beach and LAX with my life partner and best friend of more than 24 years, Joe, and four cats. Daughter Marina lives nearby and works as a costumer at Fox Studios. Daughter Katherine, a horse trainer, lives in Northern California with my grandchildren Wills (6) and Sofia (3). I am blessed to work from home in my own web consulting business, where my office opens directly onto my own private garden, one of my passions.
Local Ministries
I am actively involved with the Community Garden Project at my local parish, the Church of the Holy Nativity in Westchester. I’m also a Daughter of the King and serve on the diocesan, provincial and national levels in the Order. I have served on the Communications Team for the Los Angeles Diocesan Board of ECW since 2004.
Since joining the National ECW board in 2009 my primary responsibilities have been the National ECW web site, the electronic monthly newsletter (the eCommuniqué), our ECW National Facebook page, and networking and supporting effective communication among ECW wherever possible.
As Triennial 2012 draws near, my focus is shifting to the revamping of the web site to serve as a model for low-cost, time-saving, interactive web site solutions for diocesan ECWs. Stay connected through this web site, the eCommuniqué electronic newsletter, Facebook, and the Communiqué print magazine to see what’s in store.
